Brief
One of HENNET’s major objective is to share knowledge, skills, research findings, information, best practices and lessons learnt among CSOs, government and private health care providers with an aim of transferring and utilising new skills and inform new interventions.
HENNET has therefore taken the initiative to document best practices among its members for purposes of information sharing.HENNET acknowledges that for decades CSOs have made major contributions in health and have to a great extent been involved in operational research in regard to health care and health systems.
However, many of these activities, approaches and models have not been documented for use by interested stakeholders. This therefore results in duplication of effort or ‘reinventing the wheel’ by many organisations which thereby reduces productivity & efficiency and leads to use of resources, which would otherwise have been redirected to other activities. A TWG was therefore established to facilitate and oversee the process.

At the moment, the TWG agreed that the secretariat will hire a consultant to carry out the assignment. Among other things the consultant will deliver:
1.Recommend a criterion of a best practice;
2.Design and recommend a reporting format for the assignment;
3.Hold discussion with staff of the selected organizations and conduct literature review and other inventories;
4.Identify and validate the best practices from the staff and also conduct field visits where necessary (the HENNET Documentation TWG and the secretariat will advice on this);
5.Document the practices according to the set criteria; and
6.Disseminate the results/ findings in a one day workshop to the HENNET member organizations. |
